Guided by our experience in working with children who are being treated at IORS, we have realized that losing hair comes as one of the greatest challenges for children, especially females. They feel lost, they find it hard to adjust to their new appearance, and they feel ashamed of not having hair. We wanted to raise awareness of this challenge in the wider public and motivate people to join our project – Let my hair be your hair. So far, 494 individuals have donated their hair for the cause. We had mothers, daughters, men, and children from the whole country donate, as well as some people from abroad!

Thanks to them and our dear Marko Majstorović, who makes the wigs, we were able to finish first 10 wigs before the International Children’s Cancer Day. From this day, these 10 wigs are available for our children to use. We want to help them feel beautiful when they look at  themselves in the mirror, we want to rebuild the confidence that they’ve lost and try and lift off at least part of the burden they carry.
