We have donated the first vein visualization device in Serbia to the Institute of Oncology and radiology.
This device has made it easier to locate veins, reducing pain for children during “poking.”
Chemotherapy damages and weakens blood vessels, which is why medical staff have to poke children multiple times—sometimes dozens of times—to place an IV and start or continue therapy.
We can only imagine how painful and difficult this is for everyone; the children cry, and they are completely drenched in stress with tears in their eyes. Often, several nurses have to change before the needle is finally successfully placed.
Now, things will be easier for everyone, as they will be able to visualize which vein is in the best condition, thus allowing the children to experience less pain and fewer tears.
