Association “Always with Children,” under the patronage of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, is organizing a concert titled “Music for Dreams” on Thursday, February 10, 2022, starting at 8:00 PM at the Serbian Armed Forces House, Braće Jugovića 19, in Belgrade. This event marks the twentieth anniversary of International Childhood Cancer Day.

The concert will feature the Ministry of Defense’s Artistic Ensemble “Stanislav Binički,” conducted by Katarina Božić, with performances by soprano Anđela Niniković, tenor Stevan Karanac, and baritone Oliver Njego.

The association “Always with Children” is a member of the International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parent Organizations (ICCPO) and has actively supported the commemoration of International Childhood Cancer Day from the very beginning. This day was first marked globally on January 15, 2002, and we joined its celebration with the concert “Strings for Dreams.” The concert, held at Sava Center, featured performances by “St. George Strings,” violinist Dragan Radosavljević Loford, Julian Rachlin, and mime artist Marko Stojanović.

ICCPO decided that, starting in 2003, International Childhood Cancer Day would be observed on February 15. Following the initiative of the “Always with Children” association, supported by other associations, this day was included in the Public Health Calendar of the Republic of Serbia in 2013.

International Childhood Cancer Day is celebrated to raise awareness about childhood cancer and to provide additional support for efforts aimed at ensuring adequate diagnosis, treatment, and support for families.
