The “Always with Children” Association has been providing wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment for 4 years.
On August 21, 2024, we organized a large public haircut event in Čuburski Park, in collaboration with the Vračar Municipality. Over fifty people attended the event, and they had the opportunity to donate their hair for wig-making. The event was scheduled to last from 10 AM to 12 PM, but due to high attendance, we extended the event until 2 PM.
This event would not have been possible without our wonderful hairdressers, with whom we have been collaborating for many years, and who provide free haircuts to everyone wishing to donate their hair.
How does the wig-making process work?
When a child wishes to receive a wig, the parents contact us and send a picture of the child before treatment, so we can see the hair color. Sometimes children want a change, so they request slightly darker or lighter shades. For each child, we provide multiple wigs in different shades they desire, giving them the chance to try on several wigs and choose the one that suits them best. Our wig makers, Marko Mastorović and Marina Mladenović, ensure that every girl receives the perfect wig.
