This year, we are celebrating 35 years of the Always with Children Association – 35 years of support, togetherness, trust and perseverance in being there for children and young people undergoing treatment for cancer, as well as for their families.
Thirty-five years of our work are much more than an anniversary. They are years filled with people, encounters, friendships, challenges and achievements. They are years in which, together with children and their families, we have learned just how important support, understanding, closeness and the feeling that no one is alone truly are.
Since our founding, our mission has remained the same – to be there for children when they need us most and to help ensure that, despite treatment and the challenges they face, they have the opportunity to preserve as much of their childhood as possible – their smiles, play, friendships and sense of belonging.
Over all these years, our programmes, activities and ways of working have evolved, but one thing has remained unchanged – our commitment to children and young people.
What makes our story truly special are all the people who have been part of it over the past 35 years. The children and young people we support and their families, donors, partners, volunteers, professional associates, friends and everyone who has supported us have each left their mark on what Always with Children is today.
That is why we do not see this anniversary simply as an opportunity to look back. It is a chance to thank everyone who has helped us build this story, but also to look ahead – towards new challenges, new ideas and new generations of children who will need our support.
Thirty-five years remind us of how much we can achieve when we stand together.
